Born in Sussex, England on the 13th of August, 1901 to parents James and Anne Thatcher. Attended a private, all boys, boarding school. Studied divinity at King's College London and went on to a PhD, writing his doctoral thesis on [suggestions would be welcome]. Following his graduation from his PhD he worked for a while in the British Library before emigrating to America, obtaining a position at Jenkin University. He was invited to visit the historical society by Professor Johnson who he met at the university.

Ambrose is above average in height with mousey brown hair, green eyes and spectacles. He has a strong predilection for tweed (and many of his jackets have elbow patches).
