 Eric Coligny works as a guard on the [[NYNHHRailroad|NYNHH Railroad]]. Born in 1890, hegrew up near the main station. He started work as a ticket clerk in 1906 and has held various posts on the railroad. He joined [[TheClub|The Club]] in 1911.

 Eric is descended from the Hugeunot refugees that came to Rhode Island in the late C17.  He knows bits and pieces about his ancestors and is proud of his French lineage.  His family have lived in Unity since 1689.

 Eric signed up to the army in 1914 when France was invaded out of a misplaced sense of historical loyalty.  He served in the army, volunteering for the American Expeditionary Force. He arrived in France in the first boat on 3 July 1917. He made use of being stationed in France to tour parts of France, visiting Paris, La Rochelle, and Coligny (in Rhone-Alps near the Swiss border). He fought and was injured at St Mihiel in September 1918.  Eric reached the rank of Corporal and was demobilised in early 1919, rejoining the NYNHH. (Note that the Germans used gas during the battle of St Mihiel.) 

 The war had a large impact on Eric. Had he not been so strong willed he would certainly have suffered shell shock.  The loss of his friends for so little gain does cause him problems, but he probably thinks that Germany did need to be stopped just the cost was too high. While he won't bore on the subject, and tries to be sensitive to others, he will talk about his experiences in France and England given a chance.

 He has a small war injury pension in addition to his salary.

 Eric now lives on his own in a two bedroom apartment in a new development in the Jenks Hill district in the south west of Unity.

 He knows [[HayesWebster|Hayes Webster]] quite well, having tried (successfully?) to befriend him when he first joined the club.  He has carried packages for Hayes in the past, but wouldn't (knowingly) carry something illegal.

 He knows [[JackProctor|Jack Proctor]] and they have discussed war time experiences in loose terms. Eric will have noticed Jack's discomfort on the topic and will have let it lie.

 Eric has never seen TheGhostTrain.
