{{{ In the late hours of last night, Prof. DouglasGordon (54), Chancellor of
JenkinUniversity, was burgled. Police are still tight-lipped about the incident, but the Times Chronicle can exclusively reveal that nothing was taken, although the chancellor's personal study has been ransacked.
Witnesses say an overweight man was seen running along Green Lane shortly after the burglary is thought to have occurred.}}}
Wed 17th Jan 1923 JENKIN LIBRARIAN BURGLED (UnearthlyGoode)
{{{ Early this morning, Mr. CharlesEastman (57), senior librarian at JenkinUniversity,
had his private residence broken into and ransacked. Once again, a large man was seen fleeing the scene. The police gave the following statement exclusively to the Times Chronicle:
- "At this time, we are treating the two burglaries as related. Professor
- Gordon and Mr. Eastman are helping us with our investigations. We have no further comment at this time." }}}

{{{Mr Benjamin Cohen, building foreman in Cohen & Sons, was yesterday charged
with handling stolen goods in relation to items found at a property being developed by Cohen & Sons in the Riverside district. }}}
Thu 25th Jan 1923 ANOTHER LIBRARIAN BURGLED (UnearthlyGoode)
- {{{ Police have now added a third burglary to their investigations after
the house of Mr. FixMe (61), Chief Archivist at UnityPublicLibrary, was ransacked in a similar manner to the other two houses. The police are appealing for any information that anyone may have concerning the matter, but warn against the vigilanteism which the gutter press may try to incite.}}}
Tue 30th Jan 1923 BURGLAR FOILED BY BANKER (UnearthlyGoode)
{{{ Mr. JamesKitchener (52), Deputy Manager of the FirstNationalBankOfUnity
and Treasurer of the Unity Historical Society, was today burgled by the same large man who has burgling houses in and around the Old Unity area. A neighbour saw a large man enter Mr. Kitchener's property and called the police, who arrived and arrested the man as he rifled through Mr. Kitchener's bookshelf.
The suspect's identity has not yet been released to the public. }}}
Wed 31st Jan 1923 BURGLAR ESCAPES CUSTODY, KILLS ONE (UnearthlyGoode)
{{{ The UnityPoliceForce this morning released the following statement
concerning the individual who was arrested yesterday on multiple burglary charges:
- We are sorry to report that the individual charged is no longer in our custody. We urge all unity citizens to be on their guard as we have reason to believe that the individual is extremely dangerous.
The police later admitted that the prisoner had escaped from a locked cell, possibly with the help of an unidentified man who was found dead in his place. The police are puzzled by his mysterious break-out; coming as it did after the criminal had already chosen to confess to the crimes.}}}
