Editor of The Unity Reporter. In 1902 he was a young keen reporter hoping to change the world. By 1922 he has become bitter and cynical, but capable of inspiring his journalists to produce copy that sells well. He is in his late 40s (he was very young when he was first made the paper's editor). Thin, almost gaunt, but of average height. He a good head of dark black hair cut in a short back and sides, and a pencil mustache. He is keen to be seen on the side of reform. He will take almost any opportunity to promote the paper and himself. Born in Providence in 1874 he worked on The Providence Express before moving to The Unity Times Chronicle in 1898. He found The Chronicle too staid and dull, compared to The Express and set out to change Unity journalism.

(for physical appearance think of the campaign manager in Oh Brother Where Art Thou)

Reporter and rabble rouser. Cynical and skeptical, will run stories attacking activities of The Club if they seem to be acting in a credulous manner. Takes a reform line -- anti-Republican at State and anti-Democrat at city level. Keen to expose links between organised crime and unions, politicians and charities. So keen that the mob tend not to worry too much as the true stories are drowned in general paranoia.

He is very good at his job: both finding and reporting on stories. He was promoted very fast (even by the standards of provincial journalism).

He writes an attributed editorial column called DodgsonDiscusses.

He is not the founder/owner of The Unity Reporter. The owner is somewhat mysterious -- it seems to be a company in New York.
