Ethan is just beginning to be a successful lawyer: not because of his knowledge of the law (though he knows enough to get by) but because he's very very good at getting a jury to see his side of the story.
When he's not working, he's usually to be found in a club or bar telling stories and flirting shamelessly with the female patrons or the waitresses. Whether in court or a club, he is impeccably turned out.
He has no sense of class at all, not even the traditional American disdain of the less-educated. He cracks jokes even in the direst of situations.
Background
Ethan was born on the 5th of June 1898 in the HospitalOfTheBlessedVirgin in Unity, as was his twin brother NathanLocke five minutes later.
During his childhood he suffered from an illness the details of which are to be decided, which has left him slight of build and not very strong even now.
At 18 he went to Harvard university. When he left he joined Harvard Law School, and on leaving he returned to the town of his birth to set up in practice.
He joined 122 Mallory Way soon after his return upon hearing that its bar was amazingly well-stocked even during these dark days.
