The Journal of William Smith

A very old book, quite possibly dating back to before the town of Unity was settled. It starts out as the journal of a natralist, William Smith, who accompanied an early party of British settlers to the americas. The book describes the birth of a settlement named Raliegh (or possibly Rawley... who can say given seventeen century spelling?), and Smith's carfully plotted maps could well be interpreted as locating Raliegh where Unity now stands.

The book talks of many boring early records of the town, perhpas the most interesting is a mention of a large flat stone being laid down on the high ground where the river bends once it has flowed around the island. There is no explanation for why this was done, however it marks a change in Smith's apparent mental state.

As the book continues, Smith clearly takes a turn for the worse mentally, his handwriting becomes shakier and he begins to ramble about dark forces. The text becomes incresingly cryptic and illedgible. From this later section of the journal, one phrase stands out as being far more clearly written. It reads

"Ritual to Banish The Shadow King"

The Journal of William Smith was first observed in the possession of ClementGreer, shortly before his murder. Its whereabouts is unknown. JuniorAlessi has denied any knowledge of the books location, however he has murdered several people and is really quite involved in organised crime so you have to ask yourself if he is telling the truth.
