WHPL Radio was set up by musician NathanLocke and financier HarryPike in September 1922 to serve LincolnDistrict.
The headquarters are on the edge of VillersHill, where land is cheap, people don't get to complain about the mast, and as an added bonus the coverage of Unity is quite good.
Its broadcasts, which run from 6am to 10pm, are split into hour-long segments, each with a local sponsor. Most are old-time music, but NathanLocke hosts a Jazz hour at 9pm before the station closes for the night, TheUnityGazette sponsors a story hour, and at noon and 6pm the station gives out a news bulletin sponsored by the Gorham SilverFactory, which pays TheUnityReporter for the news.
Another regular feature is the Book at Bedtime, sponsored by Rhapsody Brand "Yellow Box" Cocoa ("Sleep well, wake refreshed, with RhapsodyBrandCocoa"). They tend to stick to fairly tame stuff, including several of SarahCarpenter's pre-TheGraveyardElm novels.
