Finnian Parsons is most often seen in charge of the night shift at OldUnity police station.
Parsons is an unpleasant person; he worked his way up the ranks in UnityPoliceForce by pursuing the crimes of the poor. He was promoted to Lieutenant during the tenure of Unity's previous, Republican mayor L Fitzmaurice Barclay; whose main campaign pledge was to get the bums off Unity's streets. This, Parsons did; but he did so indiscriminately, and a fair few people got locked up when a fairer hand would just have moved them along (this even by the standards of the twenties).
Parsons ignores the criminal activities of TheMob, as he does those of anyone with any money.
Neither Lloyd McDonall nor FrankShort have any time for the man; where possible, they tend to partner him with SergeantTurner, who he's known to loathe. They're sure he's taking bribes, and would take any opportunity to pin something on him.
Parsons is tall and thin, with a neat crew-cut of white hair and a slight hook nose (think of Malcolm McDowell in ST:Generations). His wife was taken from him by the 1918 influenza pandemic; he now lives with his six-year-old daughter Ailbhe in a modest home in the Irish quarter.
Parsons is saved from being Unity's nastiest cop by DavidGeorge; they'd probably get along very well if Parsons weren't Irish.
