Quite a few of us now have Nintendo Wii systems. This really isn't the best place to be storing the information, but until we have some more general-purpose wiki available this'll have to do...

The battery pack seems to work quite well, you simply put it into a standard wiimote, replace the battery compartment cover with the replacement that comes with, and when you're done playing (or maybe just once or twice a week) you slot the whole wiimote into its recharge socket, which hangs off the USB connector on the back of the wii.

Notes

(1) GameCube Games: These can be played on the Wii, but you'll need at least one GameCube controller (for reasons known only to Ninendo, the Classic controller won't work), plus a GameCube memory card.

(2) Virtual console games: These aren't transferable, as far as I (Rob) know, but I've listed them on the basis that we can compare notes before wasting Wii points on a turkey. <<< -- Vivek Dasmohapatra I think they can be transferred to SD card >>>

(3) Wii number: Most things about the Wii are very well designed. However, finding the Wii number of your console isn't exactly obvious. Go to the Message Board, then New Message, then Address Book, and the console's number is listed on the front page. Intuitive, no?
