The local holding place for the bereft of sanity; it has one decent psychoanalyst on staff (DrJackson), but he can only do so much. He is trying to introduce a modiucum of modern thought and treatment into the Victorian regime, but it is an uphill struggle. Fortunately, as he knows the PlayerCharacters, they are likely to get reasonable treatment, should they end up here.
Despite the relatively primitive attitudes to treatment, the place is clean, and there is no abuse of the inmates by the staff.
The asylum is built on Providence Road, on the site of the old 17th century poorhouse, which fell into disuse in the mid 18th century. ThePoorhouse that currently serves Unity is a newer building, as is HospitalOfTheBlessedVirgin.
