Not strictly a Unity thing - that would come under ComingAttractions - but this seems like a good place to record details of forthcoming (potential) games. The list is by GM, ordered alphabetically, followed by !![Coproductions].
Finally there are the upcoming Small Games and Big Games sections, showing who signed up for what and vacancies. See also CompletedGames and WiiGames.
Games that may one day happen:
Expansion of Conciousness. A sequel to State of Mind / System of Thought. The runaways from Proxima have formed an isolated settlement out of reach of Earthgov and the Psi-corps, situated in a remote plateau on an obscure Minbari colony world. The Minbari have been very helpful, although a little standoffish. It's even been possible to bring in more refugees and the settlement has become a thriving community. And then the rangers came, and explained that there was a war on, and everyone was expected to do there bit. But what happens when the war the telepaths end up fighting is not the one they signed up for? Set towards the end of the shadow war. Much writing to be done.
Existing characters:
Jack |
Investigator, Medic, Sociopath, Ex psi-corp, vegetable? |
|
Leo |
Roboticist, Occasional Psychopath |
|
Nick |
0G Construction Worker, Card Sharp |
|
G'nin |
Narn Leader/Demagogue/Pilot/Warrior/Medic |
|
Greg |
Miner, Family man |
Whitewash. With the death of Caecilius, senior Quaesitor of the Rhine tribunal, the Rhine tribunal has been left with a dearth of Quaesitorial oversight, especially given the inter covenant feuding, disputes with mundanes, and warfare with the fay that characterise the tribunal. The outer council of Magvillus has taken the unusual step of encouraging the foundation of a new covenant to act as a base for the revitalisation of Quaesitorial power in the region. A number of volunteers have been assembled, and will present their petition to be allowed to form a covenant at the upcoming Rhine Tribunal meeting. The PCs will be a mix of hoplites (possibly unwilling volunteers) and quaesitors, between 15 and 40 years out of apprenticeship. (All characters will recieve an additional story flaw. Younger ones will typically recieve a flaw such as "Bright hope of house Guernicus". Elders are more likely to recieve a flaw such as "Under suspended sentence of marching". The intent is that all flaws should be arrived at through agreement with players and be equally interesting, but that the elder PCs will generally be forced to be more circumspect to prevent them overshadowing the younger PCs) Adventures will be a mix of covenant formation and maintenance (generally involving the entire group), investigation (where some players will probabaly be given NPCs), and tribunal politics and case advocacy (where once again some players will probably be given NPCs). Whether or not this actually happens is dependent largely on three factors. If it does happen it will happen after the next Loyalists Universe(TM) game:
- whether I can be bothered to write it; and
- whether Brasilia resumes as a constant game or takes regular breaks - I don't foresee this ever running in parallel with Brasilia.
- Whether people actually like the idea (which is why it's been posted here.)
West Wing: The Roleplaying Game. My idea for this is to have different people running sessions, as there is quite a lot of prep work involved. I will try and get this going(*) once I have written a system and a couple of introductory episodes. (*): In the same sense that one day I will write a novel.
Walking on Eggshells: An ecology-and-flying story. I have been watching too much Miyazaki.
Amber: Stagnation Point - A mysterious new force threatens trade between the Golden Circle and the Silver Rose. Some time after the Corwin cycle; Merlin cycle non-canonical. PCs can be from either royal family, or neither.
Beowulf 31 - Currently being redesigned as a one-off
Fearful Symmetry - One day I may look into actually running this.
Gloriana, Queen Elizabeth has been replaced by a fairy. Magic is returning to the world. New dangers lurk everywhere. Players:
Charles Pennet |
Dashing playwright/spy; thrill-seeking, hedonistic and terrified of boredom |
|
Noah Witham |
Trinity college's foremost Thaumaturgic scholar studying the dark arts |
|
Ruth Twentyman |
Mistress of court painter, attractive widow, tells fortunes, suspected witch |
|
Jack Marron |
World-weary explorer with no new challenges... in these lands |
- Series 1 : The Wild Hunt
- is complete
- is coming soon
See Gloriana for more details
Short games that could also be run
Red Ants From Mars : Shortly after mentioning a vague idea I had for a 1950s style sci-fi game, my subconcious began writing a plot: The cold war is getting colder. Concerned citizens are building fallout shelters. But behind the picket fences of suburban America, an alien menace lurks...
!!![Ghostbusters International - Reposessed] : The Cambridge based GBI Research Centre has been closed down due to internal reorganisation and downsizing, leaving many fine paranomologists out of work, and Cambridge unprotected from the supernatural. With a ready stream of potential employees and business, it is a fine location for a new Ghostbusters franchise to open.
Other ideas in flight
Westcorp : You are the management teams of Westcorp, a megacorportation. Your boss, CEO Art Hartley, is loved by some of the board and loathed by others. And you all have skeletons in your closets. Effectively cyberpunk-meets-the-West-Wing
Chronicle : In June, 2031 Dr Albert Armstrong will publish a article in the Lancet, describing the disease which would come to be known as TASIS. The year is 2011 and, until today, no-one in the whole of human history has suffered the effects of TASIS. An action-adventure involving time travel (No grandfathers will be harmed in the making of this roleplaying game)

Burning Coal, Steampunk, system not decided yet. There will probably be one. It is the turn of the century - the European empires all contend for power, their mighty industrial complexes powered by coal and steered by the vast difference engines that have come to dominate life - but the coal is running out: A new fuel source must be found. There are rumours of such a thing in the hitherto ignored middle east...
- I know very little history, and am therefore probably trampling all over it with hobnailed boots. Anachronistic hobnailed boots of doom. Steam powered ones.
- All of this subject to change. Any resemblance to any game you might actually play is entirely coincidental.
- Characters will all work for the secret service, although you may be new hires or long term career spooks. A sort of league of quite unusual gentlemen, if you will. I am happy to discuss character concepts at any point between now and the game. Really. Don't make me have to do the work I'm supposed to be doing.

Mortal Remains, Feng Shui, ideas for a new campaign. Up to 5 players, space for new and returning characters
The Computer Is Your Friend, Cyberpunk(-style) near future.

Rar Brains, All Flesh Must Be Eaten. Some ideas, needs time to brew.

Spaceship Zero Atomic-powered xenon-rocket based 50s pulp science fiction. The PCs are the red-blooded, two-fisted, heroic test crew of Spaceship Zero, the first ship with the new experimental Better Than Light Drive.
This game uses the background from the published Spaceship Zero game, but the OTE system. If we're using the archetypes as guidelines (perks are once per session, I think):

No Name Yet, Cyberpunk in Africa, season 2. Would work best with the characters/players from Season 1, but I can be flexible. Group size could probably be expanded slightly.
Amber: Shadows Of Former Glory
- !!![Tarnhold - Dawn] A small group of peasants, returning home late from a wedding party, are forced up onto Lassglaze Common when a storm washes out the road bridge, and must shelter overnight in Lassglaze Spine - braving the terrible stories that have been told about it.
- NOT DnD, but probably a pretty free-form system of my own devising. Tech level roughly 1100/1200 England, low magic. Story rather than combat focus.

Freeman Jinks : Sex Drugs and Europop Hague announced this, so it might as well go here. It'll probably be run one year sometime in April / May.
