Sunday 21st Jan
At first they thought it was a student prank, an act of vandalism. Pink pain everywhere. It must be students to blame. Robert ventured to the fraternity nu-theta but was unable to get anyone to talk about who had embarassed the university so. Perhaps it really was Brown. He did, however, hear about the forthcoming dramatisation of a newly translated norse saga: The Ring of The Shadow King.
Monday 22nd Jan
The vandalism continued. More pink paint daubing the town. And when plotted on the map something more sinister became apparent. A join-the-dots pentagram covering most of Old Unity. A pentagram which centred upon the theatre in which the student's play is due to be performed.
Tuesday 23rd Jan
Investigating the play led to little information. What is known is it has created a bit of a stir amongth the intelligensia - it is an extravagant way to launch a new translation of an ancient text to public scrutiny. The director seems to have paid for the hire of the theatre, one ReeseLyndon of the LyndonFamily and the translation was performed by Dr LyellMerritt, cousin of HillaryMerritt
Wednesday 24th Jan
Robert's researches led him to the chemistry department and then the geology department with samples of the dye. After examinination it was determined to contain an oxide of Scandium, a rare ore only known to come from Norway.
Thursday 25th Jan
Eric discovered the Scandium Ore had been delivered by train from Providence to Unity Hills station, for private collection. The signature was illegible. Revecca sent a telegram to Norway to track down the source of the ore, and Robert began to read the new play.

<<< I've tried to fill in episodes 2 and 3 a similar style to the first, using the journals as a guide - but I may well have missed out something important. -- SimonBooth >>>
Friday 26th Jan
Rebecca was told by return of telegram that no Scandium had been ordered in two years. Eric tracked down a purchase going back that long, but again the signature was illegible. A plan to investigate Merritt came to a swift end when he was found hanging in his burning apartment.
Saturday 27th Jan
Robert had read the play, and discovered within it a ritual to summon TheShadowKing. He stormed downtown brandishing a gun, and only rioting Brown students stopped him from making a fatal mistake.
